In this podcast, Helen Riess, discusses the science of empathy and outlines some tools you can use to help your clients become more empathetic.  Helen Riess is Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Empathy and Relational Science Program in the Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Her program conducts translational research utilizing the neuroscience of emotions to design educational curricula to improve empathy and relational skills in physicians and other care providers. Dr. Riess is on the teaching faculty at MGH where she provides evidence-based empathy training and consultations to residents, faculty, and clinical staff. She presents her work internationally at healthcare and coaching conferences and workshops. She has recently developed web-based empathy training solutions.
