Leslie Sheu, MD, is currently an assistant clinical professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, at the University of California, San Francisco. She is a clinician-educator, engaging in a mix of outpatient and inpatient patient care, teaching medical students and residents, and medical education research. Her scholarly interests thus far have focused on early medical student roles in student-run clinics, and the development of trust and supervision among early supervisors and how this influences learners. This latter work was funded by the American Association of Medical Colleges . She, along with her colleagues, received a 2017 Harnisch grant to study the role of coaching communities of practice in the context of a new medical student coaching program.
