Karine Mangion-Thornley, PhD is a senior lecturer in Organisation Studies at the University of the West of England (UWE). She holds a PhD in Business and Management from Oxford Brookes University UK. Her thesis focuses on the role of coaching in the context of talent management programmes in a multinational financial services organization.
Prior to her move into higher education in 2009, she founded a Culture in Business Ltd, a consultancy and coaching business designed to foster intercultural competence. She delivered a number of programmes for companies including Barclays, HSBC, Citigroup, SCOR, Atisreal-BNP Paribas, Tokio Marine Insurance, Via Humanis, Allio Group as well as the UK Cabinet Office and HM Treasury.
She has been living in the UK for 15 years, following a 7-year experience in French corporates and public organisations as consultant in human resources and international project management. She has also lived in Denmark and Bulgaria.
Karine holds Masters Degrees from the University of Provence, University of Paris Sorbonne, the International Institute of Management and a Level 7 Diploma in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring from the Institute of Leadership and Management UK.
Her research interests include executive coaching, talent management, social exchange theory, psychological contract, workplace coaching ethic, global leadership development.
